ELECTROCARDIOGRAM (ECG) SERVICE IN BARI

An electrocardiogram (ECG) service is also available at our pharmacy, aimed at monitoring the cardiac situation of both adults and children. The examination report will be sent in real time electronically to the specialist Cardio On Line Europe, a center in Bari dedicated to the remote monitoring of the cardiac situation of patients with various diseases.

The electrocardiogram (ECG) is a clinical examination that allows one to monitor and record cardiac activity. Thanks to a special graph, obtained from detection tools connected to the patient, the doctor is able to check any electrical imbalances in the heart muscle, which are indicative of some diseases such as arrhythmias, tachycardia, bradycardia or others.

The information obtained through an electrocardiogram allows the medical staff to carry out the following evaluation:

• calculate the heart rate;

• report the presence of any disturbances of the heart rhythm;

• assess the presence of enlargements of the heart;

• analyze the propagation of the electrical impulse, which in turn determines the depolarization of the heart muscle fibers;

• identify the presence of electrolyte imbalances, such as, for example, ions like sodium and potassium in the blood;

• assess the state of the heart and the alterations caused by coronary diseases or those affecting the heart muscle - imbalance, arterial hypertension, pericarditis;

• monitor and ascertain a previous or ongoing heart attack.
